The Little Fish Story

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, have you heard the story that goes like this?

One day, a little girl was wandering about and saw some fish stranded on the beach, struggling.

Thinking that the pretty fish might die, with great pains, she picked them up one by one and then put them back into the blue sea.

At that moment, a man came up and asked the girl, “Does it make any sense to throw them back into the water, since there are so many stranded fish on this long stretch of beach?  Who really cares about such petty little creatures?”  Then the girl thoughtfully remarked, “ To the fish, I believe it makes perfect sense.”

What the girl had done moved God in heaven.

Several years later, the little girl, now grown up, came to the beach again, only to find there were many big fish scattered in different-sized holes along the beach. The fish cried out and explained how they had tried to live at sea. They told her of their ordeals of being rejected and deserted by the sea. The girl was astonished and upset, realizing that these fish were the ones she had thrown back into the sea several years ago. Though the fish were still alive, some had difficulty communicating and swimming normally.  Sighing sadly, the girl made a decision to construct an artificial lake in which the fish could move about and live out their dreams right there next to the sea.

Then, a couple of years later, the girl, together with the big fish went to the sea, which was their natural habitat. There, all of the sea creatures were deeply moved to give an ovation after witnessing the talents of the fish who gave them such wonderful performances, of dancing, singing….

Therefore a much bigger lake came into being with more fish. They lived a happy and joyful life and cared about each other deeply.”
